Creating Accessible Playing Opportunities For Professional Golfers
Ladies Pro Series Seeks Additional Golfers For 2024 Season: Despite being warmly received by leading professional golfers within the UK, the first event on The Ladies Pro Series calendar, to be held at Hadley Wood Golf Club has been cancelled due to the lack of entries by players. With low professional playing opportunities for female professionals in the UK. (expressed by many female professionals), the tour has been lauded by the industry for its innovative format; which see players compete for five-figure purses throughout the season.
To ensure the maximum opportunity for all potential participants, the schedule has been designed to be complimentary to the existing Ladies European Tour Access Series, with an enticing £10,000 purse at each event created by the Pro-Am format.
With the remainder of the schedule still planned to go ahead, the tour are looking for support from the UK’s golf media, influencers, and respected voices to help to raise awareness of the tournaments. The next event will be held at The Springs Golf Club on May 14th. Following this, the tour also visits The Astbury, Stoke Rochford, Huddersfield Golf Club, and Sandwell Park.
Both Sarah and Adam Walker said: “In order for us to better support female professionals in the UK, we need the industry to work together, sharing this competitive playing opportunity amongst the golfing population, helping to create the same awareness of developmental events in the men’s game. We strongly believe in The Ladies Pro Series as an avenue to professional success, but need to ensure that all female professional golfers within the UK are aware of the opportunity and therefore support the tour by playing”.
