“Unleash Your Drive” event showcased golf to students new to the sport
OuttaBoundz Partners with The Golf Foundation and Greenspace: Jay Bothroyd and Trey Niven from OuttaBoundz stepped back into the classroom in late April to spend time with students from the London Academy of Excellence Tottenham (LAET). The “Unleash Your Drive’’ series, in partnership with The Golf Foundation and organised by Greenspace, saw the pair sharing their experiences of the sport, both as participants and in their professional capacities.
The event was hosted by Sky Sports’, Richard Kaufman, with 6th Form students from LAET enjoying an intimate audience with the OuttaBoundz pair. With Jay Bothroyd discussing his transition from an England-capped footballer to golf creator, and Trey sharing his journey from amateur golfer, to PGA Professional, to TV Presenter, the students were given the opportunity to see first-hand how the sport has helped create unique careers within golf.
This “Unleash Your Drive” afternoon, in partnership with The Golf Foundation was brought together by the team from Greenspace and Rocket Yard Sports. Greenspace’s own platform allows golfing communities to connect, and share their own stories on the app as they enjoy the sport at all levels; the ideal partner for an afternoon of shared experiences!
Maayane Ben Ari, Co-curricular & Enrichment Activity Coordinator at LAET, expressed her gratitude to Jay, Trey, and the organisers for their invaluable contribution to the event. “We really appreciate you coming over here and giving the students an introduction to a sport they wouldn’t normally have much access to otherwise,” said Ben Ari. “The feedback from the students was incredible, and they all said they left intrigued and keen for more.”
The event at London Academy of Excellence Tottenham not only provided students with a unique opportunity to explore the world of golf but also highlighted the importance of sports in education and personal development. By collaborating with industry professionals like Jay and Trey, LAET aims to inspire and empower students to pursue their passions and unlock their full potential.
Founder & CEO of Greenspace, Darren Dryer said: “Greenspace are delighted to have partnered with OuttaBoundz and fully support their vision and ethos. Our recent visit to LAET was a great example of our shared vision to grow this wonderful game and connect the global golf community. Working alongside the Golf Foundation added an extra dimension and really enhanced the enjoyment for the students on the day.”
