Tampa Bay Lightning secure YMCA and AdventHealth as first jersey patch sponsors

The National Hockey League’s (NHL) Tampa Bay Lightning have named Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA and AdventHealth as their first-ever jersey patch sponsors.

Contract:

  • Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA to feature on Lightning’s blue home and black third jerseys
  • AdventHealth will appear on the team’s white away jerseys
  • Fanatics jerseys sold in Lightning retail stores will feature the two new patches with no additional cost

Context:

The multi-year agreements are part of the Lightning’s new ‘Patch with a Purpose’ programme, which will see the franchise pledge more than US$1 million to support local, non-profit organisations in the initial five years of the programme. The Tampa Metropolitan Area YMCA and AdventHealth will be founding partners of the initiative.

Non-profit health care system AdventHealth had previously been a top-tier sponsor of the Lightning and also has partnerships with the National Football League’s (NFL) Tampa Bay Buccaneers, the National Basketball Association’s (NBA) Orlando Magic, and Daytona International Speedway.

Comment:

“We are excited to introduce the ‘Patch with a Purpose’ programme and welcome our founding partners, Tampa YMCA and AdventHealth, to the front of Lightning jerseys this season and beyond,” said Vinik Sports Group and Tampa Bay Lightning chief executive Steve Griggs.

“Both share our commitment to building a better future in Tampa Bay, and we look forward to making a meaningful impact together. On behalf of the Lightning and Vinik Sports Group, I’d like to thank the teams at Tampa YMCA and AdventHealth for being part of this inspiring, innovative initiative.”
