Tennis’ top-ranked female player Aryna Sabelenka has partnered with the Emirates airline.
Key details:
- Sabalenka becomes Emirates’ first tennis ambassador
- Partnership announcement marked by Belarusian unveiling a tennis-inspired livery adorned by an Emirates A380 aircraft
Context:
Sabalenka has assembled a sizeable roster of endorsements, including deals with Nike, Oakberry and Audermars Piquet. The five-time Grand Slam winner came in 27th place in SportsPro’s 50 Most Marketable Athletes ranking last year and recently featured in the ‘Battle of the Sexes’ exhibition game with Nick Kyrgios.
As for Emirates, this marks its first individual tennis player partnership, with the airline already a sponsor of all four Grand Slams. It has an expansive sports partnership portfolio, and last year the company signed up to sponsor Bayern Munich, as well as penning a ten-year extension for its deal with World Rugby.
Comment:
“In tennis, every little detail counts – so to align with a brand which matches my ambition and attention to detail makes this feel like a natural fit,” said Sabalenka.
“Travelling in world-class comfort with Emirates has been key to my preparation. But this partnership represents much more than that – because it also highlights what we, as women in sport, can achieve on the world stage.”
