What’s better than being able to rewatch some of the best moments from a game? According to Trickshot, it’s the ability to be part of it.
Sports properties are increasingly turning to virtual worlds and mixed reality platforms, with the goal of putting fans in the shoes of their favourite athletes through an immersive experience that brings them as close as possible to the action.
Founded in 2022, Trickshot’s technology captures motion and volumetric data from live sport and recreates key moments in a virtual arena, whether it be on social media, augmented reality (AR) apps or within other gaming environments.
Its content creation platform is designed to be accessible for non-technical users and gives clients the ability to select the clips, environments, avatars, effects and camera paths they want to use.
Ultimately, the company’s vision is to enable rights holders, clubs and leagues to create 3D experiences that they can push out to their fans within minutes of them happening, helping to generate new revenue streams.
So far, the London-headquartered company has worked with the likes of ESPN, the Australian Open tennis Grand Slam and Meta to create metaverse environments, spatial 3D data-powered videos and virtual reality (VR) experiences.
