Anthony Joshua will end his 15-month boxing hiatus by fighting Jake Paul in December.
Former heavyweight champion Joshua, who hasn't fought since being knocked out by Daniel Dubois in September 2024, has agreed to fight Paul at the Kaseya Center in Miami next month.
The pair will clash live on Netflix on December 19, with the bout not being an exhibition like Paul's previously scheduled fight.
Paul, 28, was originally meant to lock horns with WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis on November 14, but news that 'Tank' was facing fresh allegations in a civil lawsuit prompted the fight to be cancelled.
Joshua is over a foot taller than Davis and weighed in at 252.5 lbs ahead of his Dubois defeat — an astounding 117.5lbs heavier than the division 'Tank' is world champion in.
Chairman of Matchroom Sport Eddie Hearn, who manages Joshua, had told talkSPORT that 'the gun was jumped' on initial reports of the agreement with Paul's Most Valuable Promotions, but it has now been confirmed.
Joshua and Paul have both announced the clash in their own social media posts.
What have Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul said about the clash?
Paul is delighted he has got the simply extraordinary bout over the line.
"This isn’t an AI simulation. This is Judgment Day,”he said. A professional heavyweight fight against an elite world champion in his prime.
"When I beat Anthony Joshua, every doubt disappears, and no one can deny me the opportunity to fight for a world title.
"To all my haters, this is what you wanted. To the people of the United Kingdom, I am sorry.
"On Friday, December 19, under the lights in Miami, live globally only on Netflix, the torch gets passed and Britain’s Goliath gets put to sleep.."
As for Joshua, the former two-time champion will be the overwhelming favourite to get the job done.
And he expects a real demolition job on foreign soil, and is excited by the huge viewership records the clash will generate.
He added: "Jake or anyone can get this work. No mercy. I took some time out and I’m coming back with a mega show.
"It’s a big opportunity for me. Whether you like it or not, I’m here to do massive numbers, have big fights and break every record whilst keeping cool, calm and collected.
"Mark my words, you’ll see a lot more fighters take these opportunities in the future. I’m about to break the internet over Jake Paul’s face.”
Jake Paul vs Anthony Joshua records - a gulf in experience
Paul has an extremely limited experience in professional boxing, particularly in the heavyweight division.
He has had just one previous fight in boxing's glamour division, a bizarre and lacklustre victory over 59-year-old Mike Tyson last November.
It leaves him completely up against it, and he will need to pray for a miracle against his rival.
Joshua has a complete wealth of experience in heavyweight boxing across heavyweight and amateur level.
AJ turned over as a professional in 2013 after winning a gold medal at the London 2012 Olympic Games.
Since that day, Joshua put together a formidable winning streak, with his KO power undeniable en route to becoming one of boxing's biggest superstars.
During his stint as unified champion, Joshua went on to beat the likes of Wladimir Klitschko and Joseph Parker.
He went on to lose his belts in a shock upset to Andy Ruiz Jr, but got his revenge in an immediate rematch.
Joshua has been up and down since losing his belts in a two-fight rivalry with Oleksandr Usyk.
Despite losing to Dubois last year, he is still confident he is capable of reaching world glory again and becoming a three-time king.
Joshua has only ever been conquered by some of the division's best and Paul is not well equipped to inflict a new upset.
